-WHAT DOES AN INTERIOR DESIGNER DO?

Generally speaking, an interior designer is responsible for creating spaces suiting their clients’ taste, needs and budget.

 

-WHAT IS CURATING?

Curating is the art of enhancing a space by re-arranging its elements in a way that feels more meaningful and inspiring to the person living/shopping in it.

 

-WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CURATOR AND A DESIGNER?

They both share lots of things in common, such as designing beautiful spaces for their clients. The curator, however, focuses a bit more in the personal story behind each object, grouping them in ways that reinforce and complement each-other whilst creating a truly personal experience for their owner.

 

-WHY SHOULD I HIRE AN INTERIOR DESIGNER/CURATOR?

An interior designer is a really valuable asset when you are facing a new build or renovation. They become your guiding hand in conceptualising the project, helping you narrow down options and making sense of ideas, whilst bringing their expertise and resourcefulness to the table.

 

-WHEN SHOULD I HIRE AN INTERIOR DESIGNER/CURATOR?

Whenever you are looking to refresh your house or business, whether doing a full-on renovation or simply updating a room. Do not wait till the renovation is over, as their input will be key to ensure the perfect space for you.

 

ABOUT THE PROCESS

 

-WHAT IS THE SEQUENCE OF PHASES THAT MY DESIGN PROJECT WILL GO THROUGH?

In general terms, each project has three main steps: “Design consultation”, “Visualisation of the space” and “Turning concept into reality”. You can read a bit more about them in our PROCESS section. However, every project is so different that we will be able to advise better after our first consultation.

 

-WHAT HAPPENS IN THE INITIAL CONSULTATION? 

Our first consultation is a casual chat that will help us understand your project, your ideas, tastes and lifestyle/business demands. It will also give you a proper feel for our approach without any commitments.

 

-HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY INITIAL CONSULTATION?

If the meeting is online, we would need to see some pictures of the space and a floor-plan if you have one. Some inspirational images of things you like are also helpful, but do not stress if you do not have any. We will advise prior to the meeting.

 

-HOW LONG WILL THE INITIAL CONSULTATION LAST?

It is usually between 1 and 2 hours, but it depends on the scope of the project.

 

-HOW INVOLVED IN THE PROCESS WILL I NEED TO BE?

This is up to you. Our mission is to make your life easier and your project a success. You can decide how involved we are in the execution of the project. Whether you want us to support a specific area or manage the entire job, we are here for you, sleeves rolled up!

 

-WILL I BE WORKING ONE-TO-ONE WITH A DESIGNER?

Yes, you will be working with your very own curator.

 

-HOW DO YOU SHOW THE FINAL DESIGN?

Depending on the project we will put together concept boards, sample boards, CAD floor-plans and elevations or even beautiful illustrations. Anything to help you visualise the project and ensure you are 100% happy with the direction.

 

-WHAT TYPE OF PROJECTS YOU CAN DO?

We specialise in reinventing commercial and residential spaces. From studio apartments or pop-up shops to big houses or flagships stores -and anything in between!

 

-WHAT OTHER SERVICES DO YOU OFFER CLIENTS?

The majority of our services are listed under our RESIDENTIAL and COMMERCIAL tabs. However, if you have something in mind that you do not see listed, please CONTACT US and we will advise!

 

–I DO NOT KNOW WHAT STYLE I WANT; CAN YOU STILL HELP?

Of course, we can. We will work closely with you in drawing upon your story to design meaningful interiors celebrating you or your client.

 

-CAN YOU INTEGRATE MY FAVOURITE PIECES OF FURNITURE OR ACCESSORIES INTO THE DESIGN?

Yes, we can. That is our speciality!

 

-CAN YOU WORK WITH ME IF I AM BASED IN ANOTHER COUNTRY?

Absolutely! We do offer an online service where we can support you remotely.

 

ABOUT FEES

 

-IS HIRING A DESIGNER/CURATOR EXPENSIVE?

It depends on the project, of course, but hiring a designer is an investment that will help you save money. Not only will they help you prevent expensive mistakes, but also benefit from their trade discounts and contacts.

 

-HOW DO YOU CHARGE?

Every project is so unique that we do not believe in a “one size fits all” approach.  After our initial consultation, we will come back with a proposal and a quote that will reflect the needs of your project.

 

-DO YOU CHARGE FOR THE FIRST MEETING?

Building rapport from the beginning is paramount to us, this is why our first consultation is complimentary. Come say hi!
